Dr. (Ms) Kirti Srivastava received her B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D from Osmania Unversity, Hyderabad, India. She is currently Sr. Principal Scientist and Head of Non‐Linear Geophysics Group at National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad, India.
Dr. Kirti Srivastava research areas include Mathematical and Stochastic Modeling of non‐linear behaviour of Earth’s System. Her notable contributions have both societal relevance as well as basic research. She has been carrying out Tsunami Hazard studies for Nuclear installations for Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India and a study on Safety of proposed Kalpasar dam from Tsunamis. Her main contributions in basic research are in development of Mathematical and Stochastic techniques for understanding the Earth’s complexity particularly in quantifying the subsurface thermal and ground water flow problems.
Dr. Kirti Srivastava has several National and International publications and 2 US Patents to her credit. She has guided two PhD students and a few others are pursuing their PhD under her guidance. She is the recipient of the CSIR Young Scientist Award and is a Fellow of the AP Academy of Sciences and is a member of Women Scientist Scheme, Dept of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
