Dr. Simanchal Padhy, Scientist, NGRI, Hyderabad was chosen for “CSIR Young Scientist Award” for the Year 2008 in Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences. The award will be presented on 26th September, 2008 i.e. on CSIR Foundation Day.
Dr. Padhy has been chosen for this Award for his work “Studies on Propagation of Seismic waves to characterize the heterogeneities of the medium”. He has been working in this field for the last eight years and published eight papers in International Journals besides presenting papers in International Symposia held in China and Czech Republic. He was recipient of DAAD Fellowship for carrying out research at University of LEIPZIG, Germany. He was also a Member of Indian Antarctica Expedition Team during December 2000 to March 2001.
