1. To reconstruct high- resolution paleoceanographic changes in the North Indian Ocean for the late Quaternary period using stable carbon and oxygen isotopes from marine cores.

2. To determine sea surface temperature changes around the Lakshadweep and Andaman islands for last few centuries using coral records.

3. To investigate the link between Ocean Dipole, ENSO and southwest monsoon.

4. To study glacial- interglacial variations in the Bay of Bengal.

5. To reconstruct monsoonal changes in the Indian sub-continent using oxygen and carbon isotopes from speleothems and corals and to compare land records with the marine records.
