Area: Lithosphere, Earth’s Interior

              and Paleo-Environment

Objectives:

• To understand the effect of double diffusion convection in the Earth and Planetary cores on the nature of the resulting magnetic field through three dimensional magneto-hydrodynamic simulations.
• To map the electrical resistivity structure of the crust and lithosphere of the Sikkim Himalaya employing broad-band and long period Magnetotelluric measurements to understand the tectonics of the region.
