NGRI Golden Jubilee Volume-1
A book entitled 'Seismic imaging of the Indian continental and
oceanic crust" was released on 14th February 2010 at NGRI by
Dr. Hari Narain, Former Director of NGRI which is the first volume of
NGRI Golden Jubilee Publication Series. Printed and published by
Professional Books Publisher, Hyderabad, the book was authored by
Dr. P. R. Reddy Scientist G (Retd.) of NGRI with a prologue from world
renowned seismologist Dr. Walter D. Mooney, US Geological Survey.
Dr. Reddy was supported by his colleagues from NGRI and NIO
as co-authors of a number of chapters.The function was presided over by
Dr. V. P. Dimri, the then Director of NGRI.The function was graced by
Padma Vibhushan Dr. Y. V. Reddy, former Governor of the Reserve Bank
of India who also spoke on the occasion.
This book has been brought out with the main objective of
bringing into focus the strides made by the seismologists from
different parts of the world in general and the scientists of NGRI in
particular during the last 50 years. The book would be useful to the
young researchers in understanding the chronological development of
the technique
