The prestigeous 'Padma Shri' Award, one of the highest three civilian awards of India, which is given in recognition of distinguished service in a field is conferred on Dr. Vijay Prasad Dimri, Director of NGRI, in recognition of his work in Science and Engineering. The Padma awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day (26th of January) every year. In this year 2010, the President of India has approved 130 Padma Awards (6 Padma Vibhushan, 43 Padma Bhushan and 81 Padma Shri). The awards are conferred by the President of India at a function to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan sometime around March/ April, 2010.

NGRI Video Conferencing facility was inaugurated by Prof. Samir K. Brahmachari, Director General of CSIR on 17th December, 2009. This well designed facility has a seating capacity of thirty six, having the state of the art technology in VC with all processor controlled gadgets, which can be operated with a Wi-Fi touch panel. It is equipped with near-end, far-end projections, 51" LCD, Interactive Whiteboard, Lighting Control, DSP Audio Mixer, Document Camera etc. Photo Gallery
